Opened in 1932, the cemetery lies on the edge of the Grunewald in Berlin’s Dahlem district. Albert Brodersen designed the woodland grounds, while Heinrich Schweitzer designed the chapel and the other early buildings. Straight paths, changes in level, dense greenery and restrained burial fields give the place its distinctive character.
